What's involved in an initial consultation?
This session is designed to understand your unique needs, explore your goals, and lay the foundation for a plan that supports your wellbeing.
-
It forms part of the dietetic assessment and is an important part of the nutrition care process. Your first session is designed to gather key information about your health, nutrition, lifestyle, hormones, movement and exercise habits, and relationship with food and your body. It's where I start to understand your 'food and body story'. Much of this session will be listening and exploring your experiences, so I can understand your needs and tailor our sessions to support you best.
-
During this session (or the first follow-up), we’ll also develop a personalized plan. Together, we’ll set goals and strategies that feel safe, achievable, and aligned with your priorities - whether that’s creating sustainable eating habits, building a more peaceful relationship with food and your body, supporting hormones, or managing perimenopause symtoms.
-
Follow-up sessions are typically scheduled weekly or fortnightly at first, depending on your needs and goals. These sessions provide space to review progress, troubleshoot challenges, refine strategies, and adjust plans to ensure your approach continues to support your wellbeing.
-
For clients working on disordered eating or eating disorder recovery, coordinated care with other professionals on your care team (e.g., your GP, Psychologist, Psychiatrist) may be recommended - always with your involvement and consent -to ensure safe and supportive care.
-
If you’re unsure whether 1:1 support is right for you, a free 15-minute connection call is a great way to ask questions, discuss your goals, and see if we’re a good fit before booking.
What is involved in a review consultation?
Review consultations are a chance to assess progress, celebrate wins, and make adjustments to your plan. It's also where I help you find motivation for change.
During a review session, we’ll explore what’s working well, identify challenges, and refine strategies as needed. This may include revisiting meal planning, adjusting eating patterns, or addressing any barriers that are holding you back.
