Supporting women through midlife, food and body changes

I’m an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) and Credentialled Eating Disorder Dietitian (CEDC-D) supporting women whose nutrition needs sit at the intersection of women’s health, food, body image and wellbeing.

I work with women navigating:

  • Perimenopause and menopause

  • Changes in appetite, eating patterns and nutritional needs

  • Changing body image and relationships with food

  • Chronic dieting, restriction and weight cycling

  • Disordered eating and eating disorders, including binge eating disorder, anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and OSFED

  • PCOS

  • Endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain

  • IBS and gut health

  • Other chronic health conditions where nutrition, eating patterns or nourishment are part of the picture

Midlife nutrition

Perimenopause and menopause can change much more than hormones. Changes in appetite, body composition, energy, sleep, digestion, mood and body image can all affect how women eat and how they feel about food and their bodies.

I support women to navigate these changes without returning to restrictive dieting, helping them find practical, sustainable ways of nourishing themselves that support their health and fit their lives.

My approach

  • Evidence-based and weight-inclusive, guided by non-diet and Health at Every Size® (HAES®) principles

  • Eating-disorder-informed and trauma-informed, with care that considers the whole person and their individual clinical context

  • Collaborative -working alongside referrers and the broader healthcare team where appropriate

  • Client-centred - tailored to each woman's needs, preferences, circumstances and goals

Collaborative care

I work collaboratively with GPs, women's health clinicians, psychologists, pelvic health physiotherapists and other allied health professionals to provide coordinated, person-centred care.

I particularly value multidisciplinary care where women's physical health, hormonal changes, mental health, food and body image intersect.

Referrals

Referrals are welcome from GPs, women's health clinicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, mental health professionals, pelvic health physiotherapists, counsellors and other allied health professionals.

If you're unsure whether nutrition support may be helpful for a particular client, I'm very happy to have a brief conversation about whether I may be a suitable fit.

Referrals can be emailed to admin@shenourished.com.au or faxed to (03) 9022 7814.

Clients can also book online or contact me directly to arrange an appointment.
